On Sunday, August 20, 2023, Carrie Nicole Byers entered eternal rest at the age of 34. She was a loving and devoted daughter, cousin, niece, friend, and mother to one handsome son. Carrie was born on December 29, 1988, in Spartanburg to Lisa and the late Kenneth E. Byers. She was educated in the Spartanburg County School System and graduated from Byrnes High School in 2006. She gave birth to Jamár on January 6, 2012. She attended school at DeVry University where she recently obtained the degree of "Associate of Applied Science in Business" on June 24, 2023. Carrie was a soft-spoken, sweet, and caring person. Though she was not afraid to speak her mind, at times she was timid. She loved her family and made it her life's mission to know her family on both sides. Jamár was her life's joy. No matter what she endured, she would look at him and keep going. Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth E. Byers; maternal grandparents, Lucille and Leica Miller; paternal grandparents, Jewel and Ervin Byers; and best friend, Cassandra Alexander. Left to cherish her memory is her only son, Jamár Dawkins; her mother, Lisa Byers; one sister, Chrisshawna Byers; two brothers, Kenneth C Byers and Geovontae Byers; three aunts,

Sharlene Miller, Carol Wells, and Zellar Byers; five uncles, Eddie (Gladys) Miller, Mark (Diana) Miller, Lauriel (Joi) Byers, Marvin Byers and Lynn Byers; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
