Leroy Reid, Jr. was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on November 10, 1968, to the late Mr.  Leroy Reid, Sr. and Ms. Jessie Mae Norman. He departed peacefully on July 14, 2025, at home.

Leroy was known for his interest in cooking and for regularly preparing meals for his family.

Leroy Reid, Jr. is remembered as a father, grandfather, and husband who valued both football and cooking, interests that often-brought people together. He will be missed.

On July 14, 2025, our beloved Leroy Reid, Jr departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Leroy Reid, Sr. and Ms. Jessie Mae Norman.

He leaves cherished memories to his wife LaToya Copeland-Reid, three sons Demetris Reid, Shamaad Reid and RaShaun Hughs all of Spartanburg, SC, two daughters, Quantia (Lafayette) Baker of Boiling Springs, SC and NaTasha Kennedy of Spartanburg SC.; five grandchildren, Tamyiah, Maddie, Callie, Amaad and Ra'Cravion. Five brothers, Joseph (Tiffany) Wilkes, Cory D. (Lady Deidre) Benson of Zebulon, NC, Leroy Jackson of Chicago, IL, McKinnley Wilkes, Brandon McDowell and Kevin McDowell all of Spartanburg, SC.; five sisters, Pamela (Edward) Palmer, Lani McCullough, Bre McDowell, Earlene Rice and Joni Davis all of South Carolina. Two special aunts, Sarah Dawkins and Willie Mae Rice of South Carolina. Lastly, his mother-in-law Carolyn Boyd of Spartanburg, SC, three sisters-in-law, Amanda (Devon) Roland of Spartanburg, SC, Lawanda Wallace Stallings and Tashia Wallace both of Lyman, SC.
