Minister Yvonne Hammond-Reid passed away gracefully at her residence on September 11,2024 in Spartanburg, SC at the age of 70. Yvonne was the daughter of the late Reverend Macy Little Simuel, of Spartanburg SC; and the late Joe Nathaniel Simuel precedes in death by her bother Ronald Hammond.

Minister Hammond was a faithful Associate Minister of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church of Spartanburg, under Pastor Eddie Parks. She was a committed Sunday School participant and an active, dedicated member of The Women's Ministry.

Yvonne was born in New York and moved to Spartanburg SC as a young child. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a very classy, stylish, and attractive lady that loved the finer things in life. She was a very joyful, outspoken, outgoing, very intellectual, hard-working woman.

Yvonne enjoyed Preaching, Singing, Dancing, listening to Music and telling jokes!! She was super adventurous and some of her favorite hobbies were Riding Roller Coasters, Bowling, Fishing, Knitting, and going to the park. She was extremely competitive at her board games and hated cheaters!! SHE LOVED TO EAT!! She also loved Traveling and helping her grandkids with their homework and projects. She loved to read, write, draw and was incredibly talented. You would be surprised at how good it turned out!! She would do your whole project!!! She enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows. She loved going to the park riding back with her grandkids as well. Yvonne was sweet but feisty!! To know her was to love her.

The best thing about Yvonne was she loved her family very dearly and enjoyed spending time with them in Charlotte NC. She was in the ministry for 15+years taking after her mother Macy.

She is survived by her caring daughter Yulonda (Torrey) Stephens of Charlotte Nc, her son Carlos Beckham of Spartanburg SC as well as her five grandchildren Shawn, Sierra, Raesie, (Charlotte, NC) Arionnya and Jordan (Spartanburg, SC) and a host of close family and friends.
