Obituary

Rufus "Snoop" Carson was born in Spartanburg SC on July 26, 1934, to the late Preston Carson and Electa Mae Lowrance Carson. He was the oldest of six children. Rufus received his education through the public school system.

In 1958 Rufus was united and holy matrimony to Leola Bomar Carson. Rufus took pride in his family and was a dedicated husband and a devoted protective father of his children. Rufus worked 20 years at Abbott laboratory where he was a machine operator.

Rufus was a member of Holden Chapel Baptist Church after growing in the word of God, Rufus gave his life to Christ and later he became a member of Community Bible Believers where he served as a deacon.

Today, as we remember, Rufus Carson, we remember a kindhearted and loving man, who was called Pop by his children, and everyone encountered him loved him and called him Pop. Pop enjoyed Family, dancing and singing. He will be missed dearly.

Rufus Carson peacefully entered eternal rest on February 23, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Preston Carson, and Electa Mae Lowrance Carson, siblings Marjorie Carson Farr and Preddy Mae Carson Alexander, Thomas Carson; son, Danny Carson, and wife Leola Bomar Carson.

He leaves cherished memories to his children: Linda Cheeks, Sharon McIntyre both of Spartanburg SC, and Perry Carson (Clara) of Gaffney, SC, sisters, Jesse M Carson Kelly, and Georgianne Carson Jackson, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
