Vennie Mae Vernon was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on January 31, 1945, to the late Mr.  Albert Clarence Jones and Mrs. Mamie Jones. She slept away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at home.

Having a love for cooking and baking, Vennie was well known for always eating her fried chicken and chocolate cake.

Today as we remember Vennie Mae Vernon, we remember a kindhearted, loving, and nurturing woman who tried to live a life that was pleasing to God. She was an encouraging and praying woman and one that if you ever met her; you would never forget her. She will be missed dearly.

On July 5, 2024, our beloved Vennie Mae Vernon departed this life. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert Clarence Jones and Mrs. Mamie Jones; a son Alton Eugene Vernon; siblings, Rosie Jones, Louise Jones Thomas, and Alberta Jones Lindsey.

She leaves cherished memories to her loving son Terry (Sherry) Vernon, two sisters, Doris Chavez and Ann Mae (Edward) Jones; two brothers, Gettis Jones and Ben Jones; four grandchildren & one great grandchild, Ex-husband Alton Leon (Nellie) Vernon, who remained as best friends and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
